Solar PV and wind energy are the most important renewable sources after hydroelectric with regard to installed capacity, research spending attaining grid parity. These sources, including battery storage systems, well-established load modeling have been pivotal success of planning operation electric microgrids. One major challenges in renewable-based DGs, storage, loads microgrids is uncertainty their stochastic nature, as accuracy these models significant There several literature that model DG resources for microgrid applications, selecting appropriate a challenging task. Hence, this paper examines common aforementioned distributed delineates mathematical rigor required characterizing models. Several simulations conducted demonstrate performance using manufacturers’ datasheets actual atmospheric data inputs.
